How to Prepare for Your Nano Brows, Lip Blush & Eyeliner Appointment
A simple, honest guide for clients in Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Buckhead, Midtown, Cumming & Suwanee, GA
Booking your first Nano Brows, Lip Blush, or Permanent Eyeliner appointment can feel like a big decision — and that's completely normal. Whether you're coming from Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Buckhead, Midtown, Cumming, or Suwanee, most of my clients tell me the same thing before their appointment: "I just want to know I'm doing this right." So here it is, in plain, simple language — everything you need to do (and avoid) in the days before your appointment so your results heal soft, even, and beautiful.
Why Preparation Actually Matters
Think of your skin like a canvas. The calmer and healthier it is on appointment day, the better the pigment settles in, and the smoother your healing will be. Skipping this step doesn't ruin your results, but a little preparation makes a real difference — less swelling, more even color, and a faster, easier healing process.
1. Avoid Blood Thinners for 24–48 Hours Before
Things like alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil thin the blood, which can cause more bleeding and pinpoint bruising during your procedure. More bleeding also makes it harder for the pigment to settle properly. If you can, skip these for a day or two before your Nano Brows, Lip Blush, or Eyeliner appointment.
2. Skip Caffeine the Morning Of
I know — this one's hard. But caffeine raises your heart rate and can make your skin slightly more sensitive during the procedure. A calm body holds pigment better than a jittery one.
3. Come With a Clean, Bare Face (for Brows & Eyeliner)
If you're booking Nano Brows or Permanent Eyeliner, please arrive with no makeup on the area we're working on. This lets me see your natural skin, your natural brow hair, and your true coloring, so we can map your results perfectly to your face.
4. No Retinol, Chemical Peels, or Botox Right Before
If you use retinol or have had a chemical peel recently, please pause it about a week before your appointment — these treatments make skin more sensitive and can affect how pigment holds. If you get Botox, it's best to schedule your permanent makeup either before your Botox or about two weeks after, so your natural muscle movement is accurate when we map your brows or liner.
5. For Lip Blush: Manage Cold Sores in Advance
If you have a history of cold sores, please let me know before your Lip Blush appointment. The procedure can sometimes trigger an outbreak, so your doctor may recommend a preventive antiviral medication beforehand. This one simple step protects your healing and your results.
6. Plan Around Your Schedule, Not Just Your Calendar
Give yourself a quiet day after your appointment if you can. Your face may look a little bolder or more defined right after the procedure, and that's completely normal — it softens beautifully over the following days as it heals. Many clients from Buckhead and Midtown like to book on a day off, or the day before a low-key weekend.
7. Come With Questions — All of Them
There is no question too small. Whether you're nervous about pain, unsure about your shape, or just want to understand the healing timeline, a good consultation should leave you feeling calm, informed, and excited — not rushed.
A Gentle Reminder
You are allowed to take your time with this decision. Permanent makeup is personal, and preparing well isn't about being perfect — it's about giving your skin, and yourself, the best possible start. I want every client walking in from Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Buckhead, Midtown, Cumming, or Suwanee to feel taken care of from the very first message, not just the moment you sit in the chair.
